Converting Slides/Digital files to ZAPP and JAS format
For years we have offered a variety of services for the local artists' community. From creating slides of your paintings and artwork, to digitizing your slides, we have provided a quality product at reasonable prices. Although we still offer these services, we have continued to add new services for you.
Many of the juried art shows, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, have starting requesting that artwork images be submitted online in a new digital format. The most common of these formats are ZAPP™ , which was created by the Western States Art Federation (WESTAF), and JAS, created by Juried Art Services,LLC. The intent of ZAPP™ format is that all images will be of a consistent size, and artists wont be penalized because their image is vertical instead of horizontal. All images are formatted to a 1920x1920 pixel square, with the non-image area blacked out, which make all images identical in size when projected.
The JAS format is a little more flexible, with no requirements for black areas, and a maximum long dimension of 2000 pixels.
